The best thing is for you to open up to him. He probably trusts you, but not to the point where he’s willing to get out of his comfort zone. So, if you open up to him and get out of your comfort zone, then he will, or should, see that you trust him very much and that he should trust you too. But this doesn’t mean for you to just go and tell him very personal things out of the blue. And you also need time. Five months may seem like a lot, but it may take longer for his wound to heal.
